Since 2013, artist Jim Bachor has been going from one Chicago neighborhood to the next filling potholes with marble and glass mosaics. Some installations have lasted for years. Others disappear in months. “It’s a little bit of bummer when they go away. But, you know, that’s what I get for playing in the streets,” he says.
